After many, many months in lockdown in the UK, I wrote this apathetic lockdown song. It's not particularly 'deep' but it represents the way my mind took to the mind-numbing 2020 experience. The music goes between light and bluesy to a heavy, fuzzed out (kinda weird) punk riff.

I recorded it all on my old Tascam 688 tape machine that I dug up at the start of the pandemic. There's a bunch of fuzz overdubs (which sound great on tape) with the core of the song being guitar, Volca FM & the MFB-301 pro analog drum machine.

I used a kind of mallet sound on the Volca FM for the baseline (which reminds me of Crash Bandicoot for some reason). The MFB-301 analog drum machine is going through a WEM Copicat tape echo unit which I always love the sound of. The guitar was also recorded through this same tape echo (guitar is a G&L Tribute Doheny).

I recorded the vocals, double-tracked through an SM57. I used a digital reverb on those.
